"Is anyone else experiencing the stomach flu?"

It's going around like crazy here. I'm just about over it now but last night I thought i was going to die. It lasts just over 24hrs and it comes on pretty quick with very forceful vomiting, fever, aches, chills, etc....not very fun, that's for sure. We went to my FIL's and his partner place for Christmas dinner (they leave for Arizona next week for six months so we celebrate early) and one of the grandkids had this stomach flu the previous night. Well he passed it on to 16 of us and that leaves two so far that haven't been ill. I thought I made it through without getting it since the dinner was last Saturday and both DH and DS got sick early Monday morning and had been better for a day or two before I got sick. Anyways, just wondering if it's going around anywhere else on the continent. I'm just hearing from others around here and in the next town that it's starting to make it's rounds. I'm glad I'm on the mend now, I wanted someone to shoot me late last night. I even cried I wanted my mom and so my son goes and picks up the phone dials my mom and says, "mom wants to talk to you, she's really sick". Caro |

We haven't had any of the flu here that I am aware of - and from the sounds of it we don't want to. I sure hope that you are feeling better and taking care of yourself. My Grandmother (she is 93 so we will assume she knows what she is talking about) swears by kosher blackberry wine in 7-up when you are getting the flu. My Mother always gave it to us when we were kids....(and contrary to belief...none of us even likes the stuff) I now use Elderberry Extract when the flu is going around and it seems to help....Now, if I could just figure a way to NOT catch pneumonia this year!! Take care Caro !!! And I understand about wanting you Mom when you are that sick....I feel the same. Tia |
