WALKING TRIP TO THE CANADIAN ROCKIES

Here are the photos of my latest walking trip, this one in August 2007 to the Canadian Rockies with my friend Helen. (See also "Walking in France" and "Walking Across Northern England".) This time I hiked in Banff and Yoho National Parks with Country Walkers. It's a little hard to train for six days of hiking in the Rockies when you live in flat, Northern Illinois, but I did my best and loved every "breathtaking" step.

Morning stretches on shores of Bow Lake. I had no aching muscles but my toes sure got sore.        My wonderful friend Helen. This was our second walking trip together. (See Northern England photos.)

Lunch time        My new friends Diane and her dear husband. Diane turned out to be a Seppie. She’d read all my books!

We have to climb what? (Heading for Yoho Pass)        How did I get myself into this?

The Death Trap        Getting up here wasn’t a pretty sight. I took the cautious way down?on my derriere.

Catching my breath        Worth every step for views like this. (Lake Louise with Chateau in background)
